The former renowned British zoologist and crocodile expert Adam Britton was arrested in April 2022 in Australia, where he lived. When his home was searched, child pornographic material was also found on his computer.
Britton tortured at least 42 dogs and killed 39 of them, according to documents BBC has taken part of. He has admitted to 56 cases of bestiality, animal cruelty, and possession of child pornographic material.
Britton filmed himself when he assaulted and killed adult dogs and puppies in a shipping container he called his "torture room". Some of the material was shared online under a pseudonym.
In a letter, which was read out in court by his lawyer, Britton writes that he takes "full responsibility" for the crimes. He also writes that he has long suffered from a sexually deviant behavior, something he now intends to seek help for, reports Australian ABC.
