Argentina won the Copa América for the 16th time.
Then the players chose to celebrate with a racist chant.
Among other things, they sing about the players in France actually being from Angola.
It is in a video from midfielder Enzo Fernández's live broadcast on Instagram that the chant is sung. The clip has now received widespread spread on social media, and several players in the Argentine national team are accused of racism and transphobia.
Among other things, the chant is about how those who play for France are actually from Angola, and how they therefore run fast. Moreover, the players sing that the French players only like trans people, with reference to the rumor about Kylian Mbappé's romance with model and trans person Ines Rau.
In the video from the live broadcast, several players can be seen singing the chant, before it is abruptly interrupted.
The chant was first known during the 2022 World Championship, when Argentina defeated France in the final.
Argentina won the Copa América final against Colombia after extra time during the night to Monday.
