The Social Democratic Party made a U-turn on Nato – something the youth association was not involved in. Now SSU wants to work for Sweden to leave Nato, according to a congress decision made during the weekend.
"SSU has been right in its analysis from the start: it is no longer possible to trust the USA when Donald Trump is sitting in the White House", writes the newly elected chairman Moska Hassas in a comment to Expressen.
Instead, the youth association wants to see a deepened defence cooperation in the EU. "Sweden and Europe need to stand strong when the world is swaying", she writes further.
