Johanna Bundsen, Jenny Carlson and Sofia Hvenfelt can all now look for new clubs.

"Under these circumstances, it is unreasonable to expect the players to continue being bound by their contracts. The decision was not easy for us to make, but we have come to the conclusion that it was unavoidable", says the trustee Holger Leichtle in a statement on Ludwigsburg's website.

Unsettled and tough of course, sleepless nights and many thoughts. There are many question marks and reflections, the national team goalkeeper Bundsen previously said to Radiosporten.

The club is the reigning champion in Germany since they won the league as recently as May.
