The Swedish football defender Joakim Nilsson is being bought out of his club team S:t Louis City in the American top division, the club confirms on its website.
"Joakim has been a true professional during his time in S:t Louis. Unfortunately, injuries have stopped him from contributing as much as he and the club had wanted", says the team's sports manager Lutz Pfannenstiel.
The 31-year-old came to S:t Louis from German Arminia Bielefeld in 2022. The time in the club has been marked by injury problems, and the contract that extended to 2026 is now broken.
Nilsson has previously played for Gif Sundsvall and Elfsborg, and has made 14 international matches for Sweden.
