AIK's players and coaches have understanding for the home crowd's booing after the 1-2 loss to Kalmar FF in the Allsvenskan restart.
We're suffering with them, says John Guidetti.
AIK was booed by the home crowd at Friends Arena both after the first half, trailing 0-1, and after the final whistle of the Allsvenskan restart against Kalmar, which ended 1-2.
From AIK's standing section Norra Stå, several supporters sang "We want to see AIK" as an appeal to the club's players and leaders.
I have full understanding for their reaction, says goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt.
Even when they shout "We want to see AIK"?
A hundred percent.
Henok Goitom made his first match in his second stint as AIK's temporary head coach.
As Värnamo defeated IFK Göteborg 2-0, AIK fell from ninth to tenth place in the table. Up to series-leading Malmö, who defeated Halmstad 5-1, AIK has 18 points.
If you've played in AIK for a long time, you know that the demand is very high here. That's where we are right now. Do you maybe want to see a change in two weeks? Yes, you do. You talk about long-term thinking in football. But at the same time, if you're in AIK, you have to have both long-term and short-term thinking close at hand. Because if you only think long-term, you won't survive in AIK, says Goitom about the crowd's booing.
Striker John Guidetti was back after a long injury break and had, like Nordfeldt and Goitom, understanding for the supporters' frustration.
Of course. We know ourselves. It's not like we're standing here and are happy, cheering and rejoicing. We're suffering with them. But we take the job, we grind and have worked extremely hard, says he.
