Unesco is calling for a crisis meeting to discuss how Lebanon's cultural heritage can be protected, reports "Kulturnytt" on Swedish Radio.
This comes after a series of Israeli attacks that have damaged culturally protected buildings in Lebanon. There is particular concern about the bombings of the historic city of Baalbek, where some of the world's best-preserved Roman ruins are located.
Currently, no one can get there to assess the damage due to the war, says archaeologist Joane Bajjaly to The Art Newspaper.
According to the newspaper, the crisis meeting will be held on November 18.
