The Medal Hopes Load Up with Parents: "Peace and Quiet"

Ebba Andersson goes her own way in the final preparation before the World Championship in Trondheim. When the rest of the team either goes to Bruksvallarna or is at high-altitude training camp, she moves back home to mom and dad in Sollefteå. I want to have peace and quiet and security, says the skiing star.

Ebba Andersson received a good form message in the World Cup weekend in Falun. Saturday's victory on 10 kilometers was followed up on Sunday with a third place on the double distance.

Then she went home to mom and dad in Sollefteå for her own World Championship loading.

Unlike the rest of the team, which loads either in Bruksvallarna or at high altitude in Italian Lavazé.

Save mental energy

Ebba Andersson now wants to think just the right amount about the World Championship. A concept she first tried out before the World Championship in Planica 2023, which ended with two golds.

I want to have peace and quiet and security, explains Andersson.

Don't you get that with the rest of the team in Bruksvallarna?

Yes, of course you do. But you also get a clearer reminder of what we're there to do. To prepare for the championship. That little reminder I want to spare myself. I want to save my mental energy, answers Ebba Andersson and continues:

It's a pre-camp before a championship. Then it can be easy to be mentally focused on why you're there all the time. It has many times cost me more energy than it has tasted.

Recharged

She wants to be recharged by mom and dad at home in Sollefteå.

It has been positive for me to also be able to relax alongside training and everything is just as usual. It's me and my parents and my home environment.

Ebba Andersson emphasizes that she doesn't feel uncomfortable with the team. She just wants to have peace and quiet.

Sometimes I've had a little trouble feeling that what I do is enough. The national team management has given its approval. You have to follow what you believe in, she says.

The World Championship starts on February 27.
