Häcken believed they had taken the lead at home at Bravida arena already in the first minute. Isak Brusberg ran himself free and finished coolly. But the 18-year-old striker was VAR-judged to have been in an offside position.
Brann then took over most of the attacking desire and was awarded a penalty with a quarter of an hour played. A penalty that Joachim Soltvedt shot hard, high and wide.
In the 28th minute, the first opportunity came from Häcken. Silas Andersson made a pass back home that his teammates were not aware of and the Norwegians could take the lead through the Icelander Saevar Magnússon.
The same Magnússon then stayed up front after new Häcken laziness in the 57th minute and punctuated the match with his and Brann's second goal.
Häcken's Amor Layouni was critical of the team's performance after the match:
It's an even match. But we give them two goals, it costs us the loss, he says to Aftonbladet.
A return match awaits in a week in Bergen.
