The meeting between Spanish Real Betis and Italian Como degenerated into a brawl where the players exchanged several blows, reports AP.

It was at the end of the first half that Real Betis' Pablo Fornals and Como's Maximo Perrone got into a confrontation where a short exchange of words turned into several blows.

Players from both sides joined the fight and both teams' substitutes and staff poured in from the sideline.

We are competition-oriented and both teams wanted to win, but in the end there is a line that you do not cross in this kind of matches, said Real Betis midfielder Sergi Altimira after the match and continued:

They (Como) made many fouls and interrupted the match all the time.

The referee handed out two yellow cards and sent off both main characters in the brawl.

The match ended 3–2 to Como.
