Never before have two Swedes been drafted to the NBA in the same year.

Now everything suggests that the duo Bobi Klintman and Pelle Larsson are making history.

Both star players are highly ranked ahead of tonight's NBA draft.

Only three Swedes in total have previously been drafted to the NBA. Jonas Jerebko was the first (39th, 2009), followed by Jeffery Taylor (31st, 2012) and Marcus Eriksson (50th, 2015).

But when the NBA draft begins tonight, it seems that Swedish basketball history is about to be written.

Both Bobi Klintman and Pelle Larsson are expected to be picked, but there are differing opinions about when in the selection process.

Tonight at 02.00, Swedish time, the first draft round begins, where all 30 NBA clubs get one pick each. Then the draft continues with the remaining picks on Thursday evening, 22.00 Swedish time.

It is uncertain whether Bobi Klintman, who is ranked highest of the two Swedes, will go in the first or second round.

The draft is more open than in many years, and there is unusually great uncertainty surrounding tonight's picks. American ESPN ranks Klintman as 34th, which would mean that the Swede would have to wait until Thursday evening to be drafted. At the same time, AP and many other American sites place the 21-year-old in the first round, somewhere around 25th place.

Larsson is expected to go sometime in the second round.

Klintman plays for the Australian Cairns Taipans. Previously, he played for the American college team Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Larsson plays for Arizona Wildcats.

The NBA draft consists of two rounds, where all 30 teams get one pick per round, with the exception of traded picks.

The order is determined primarily by the table position in the previous season's regular season. The winners of the two conferences pick last.

The 14 teams that did not reach the playoffs participate in the so-called draft lottery. There, the order of the first 14 picks is drawn.

This year's draft picks in the first round:

1. Atlanta Hawks

2. Washington Wizards

3. Houston Rockets (traded by Brooklyn)
