The Swedish krona is losing value against the US dollar, which is now at its highest level since last summer. One dollar now costs 10.75, a level last seen in July, and in just over a month, the dollar has become almost 60 öre more expensive.
The background to the dollar's strengthening against several currencies is believed to be an increasing likelihood that Donald Trump will win the presidential election. Trump's plans for increased import tariffs could lead to rising inflation, which in turn would hold back interest rate cuts from the central bank Federal Reserve, writes Financial Times.
