It was on Thursday that the financial officer discovered that large sums of money were missing from two accounts: one belonging to the speedway club Dackarna and one for Målilla motor club.

Chairman Jon Lindberg tells Dagens Vimmerby that it's a matter of fraud, where "an outside party" gained access to the affected bank accounts.

For Dackarna, 427,000 kronor disappeared, and 249,000 kronor for Målilla MK.

We're working intensively all the time to see what possibilities there are and trying to get help in every possible way to figure out what we can do, says Lindberg, who currently has a hard time knowing how this will affect the future.

It's low season, this is what we would live on during the winter. It's money we've worked together for many years, it's not an amount that's just set aside for unforeseen events, but it's money that's definitely needed in the operation.

When such a large sum disappears, if we don't get it back, it can theoretically lead to bankruptcy.
