The accident occurred in Greece where Pérez is currently on loan to Aris Thessaloniki from Celta Vigo.

According to information from Spanish newspapers Marca and Diario AS, the incident is said to have occurred when Pérez tried to intervene to protect his own dog from another dog. In the turmoil, he himself was bitten in the genital area.

The injury required immediate attention and the 27-year-old was taken to hospital in Greece, where he received six stitches.

Aris Thessaloniki has confirmed the incident and states that the situation for Pérez is not serious, but that he is still under medical observation.

Pérez had just made his debut for Aris as recently as last week. Now it is unclear when he can return to play and the winger missed the club's European Championship qualifying match on Thursday.
