One of the players with the most experience in the team is one of the two team captains, Emil Johansson, who is participating in his fifth World Championship.
It's going to be incredibly fun with the home World Championship, I made my World Championship debut in 2014 in Gothenburg. Maybe you didn't enjoy it in the same way as you can now when you have several World Championships under your belt. So it's going to be awesome to be able to get all the close ones on the stands and play in front of a yellow wall, says Johansson.
With several debutants in the team, Johansson has had to take on a lot of responsibility in getting the new players into the team in a good way.
I've tried to get them to be themselves in the group, both off and on the pitch. They've been selected for a reason, they should get to do their thing. I'm just trying to get them to feel calm and secure.
"A million thoughts"
One who is making his debut in the World Championship is Oskar Weissbach. He received the message last Friday.
There have been a million thoughts in my head, so it's nice to sit here with a yes and know that I'll get to play in the World Championship. It's probably because I've had a bit of anxiety, since I knew it was going to be a home World Championship and that doesn't happen often. But those feelings disappeared when I got the message, says Weissbach.
He has been to a home World Championship before, but not as a player. In 2014 in Gothenburg, he sat as a linesman and saw Emil Johansson make his World Championship debut.
Then and there, I had no thoughts at all about playing in the national team myself. But now, in recent years, I've realized that it's possible. It's fun to look back on the journey I've made from sitting there as a linesman and now getting to play together with Emil in a World Championship. I'm looking forward to it.
Aiming for a third straight
Sweden has taken two straight World Championship golds since Niklas Nordén and Thomas Brottman took over as national coaches. In total, Sweden has ten golds and four silvers in the 14 World Championships that have been played.
It's clear that we're the big favorites, says Nordén in connection with the presentation of the World Championship team.
The World Championship will take place from December 7-15. Sweden will start against Slovakia.
