In ten days, this year's season of Superettan will begin. But it is still uncertain whether Östersund will be participating or not.
The club writes on its website that it has a tax debt of over three million kronor that needs to be paid during April.
And chairman Anders Cedeberg does not see a bright future for the situation, according to the website fotbollz.se.
"A few days ago, it looked fairly bright for us to get in the capital required, but we have failed to do so and can only sadly acknowledge the fact that there will be no Superettan for ÖFK this year", he says according to the website and continues:
"We currently do not have the capital required to start and complete the season, but we are working further to resolve this."
The club is now appealing for external financing in a new "financing model".
In October, the club was threatened with bankruptcy, but was saved at the last minute when they received over three million kronor.
