The charred remains of five people from the first attack early in the morning are said to have been taken to hospitals in Tulkarm, according to information from hospital chief Amin Khader to the Palestinian news agency Wafa.
The attack occurred between the Palestinian villages of Zeita and Qaffin, reports the news agency AFP.
The Israeli The Jerusalem Post reports on the attack as a raid on a terrorist cell, citing the Israeli military (IDF). The newspaper also reports that Haitam Balidi, a commander in Hamas' armed branch, the al-Qassam brigades, in Tulkarm, was killed in the attack.
The al-Qassam brigades have also been active in Gaza, where war has been raging after the terrorist-stamped Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 last year.
Later, the Israeli army announced that four more people had been killed in Tulkarm. Israel claims that it was Palestinian militias who opened fire on Israeli forces.
