”France categorically rejects these allegations”, writes the French Foreign Ministry in a statement on Sunday and adds that they are “fully and completely committed” to the issue of combating antisemitism.

Real estate magnate and lawyer Charles Kushner, whose son Jared Kushner is married to Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka, was given the green light to become an ambassador earlier this year.

In his letter to Macron, Kushner writes, among other things, that hatred of Jews “has exploded since Hamas' barbaric attack on October 7, 2023”, which resulted in the ongoing war in Gaza, and claims that France “has not taken sufficient measures” to combat antisemitism.

”The allegations from the ambassador are completely unacceptable”, the French Foreign Ministry's statement says.

Kushner's letter came just days after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made similar allegations against the French president following Macron's decision that France will recognize a Palestinian state.
