The E4 Bypass Stockholm is the motorway connection that will run from Kungens Kurva south of Stockholm to Häggvik, north of the city. The stretch is over two miles long, with the majority in tunnel.
Now, the Swedish Transport Administration has decided to open a part of the route four years earlier than planned. This concerns a 3.5-kilometer stretch between Häggvik and Hjulsta.
According to the Swedish Transport Administration, the opening will contribute to reducing travel time for road users and also relieve the larger surrounding roads.
The partial opening is planned for autumn 2026, and the entire E4 Bypass Stockholm is intended to open in its entirety in 2030.
