Unfortunately, one person has now been confirmed dead after the serious accident, says Stefan Larsson, press spokesperson for the police.
The two injured passengers in the car are being treated at the hospital.
It is still a serious condition for them, says Larsson.
The alarm about the accident – on a country road north of Gävle – came in to the police at 02.07 at night to Friday. The 25-year-old woman who drove the car was slightly injured and arrested at the scene of the accident. She is still detained, according to Larsson.
A public prosecutor on duty has initiated a preliminary investigation and she is suspected of serious drunk driving, serious negligence in traffic and causing another person's death.
We have no arrest decision, on the other hand the preliminary investigation is led by a public prosecutor on duty, says Larsson.
