The Spanish actress Marisa Paredes has passed away, reports the Spanish Film Academy. She participated in 75 films, more than 80 TV series and 15 theater productions, writes El Mundo.
She became most famous for her roles in six of Pedro Almodóvar's films, including "All About My Mother" and "The Flower of My Secret" where she played the lead role as the writer Leo. Almodóvar's films led to collaborations with other international directors, including Roberto Benigni, who gave her a role in the Oscar-winning film "Life Is Beautiful".
Marisa Paredes was 78 years old.
