Gaza residents are witnessing massive airstrikes against Shejaia in Gaza City, reports Israeli Haaretz.
"We are being starved in Gaza City, hunted by tanks and planes with zero hope that this war will ever end", says Mohammad Jamal from the city in a message to Reuters.
Israel's military has urged Palestinians in the neighborhood to evacuate immediately, reports Times of Israel. According to the newspaper, Israeli tanks are seen advancing in the area.
On X, the military's spokesperson has published a long list in Arabic of the zones that need to be evacuated. Residents in the affected areas are asked to "for their safety" move to a so-called humanitarian zone.
In pictures, rows of people are seen leaving their homes with minimal luggage. The smallest children are carried on shoulders or in arms, the slightly older ones have to walk on their own. A boy carries a small backpack, another pushes his relative in a wheelchair.

Earlier on Thursday, the Qatar-based media company reported high explosions in both Shejaia and Sabra in Gaza City during the night and morning. Several people are said to have been killed and injured, but due to the ongoing fighting, ambulances cannot reach the area.
Reports of fatalities are also coming from Bureij near Nuseirat in central Gaza after Israeli attacks.
