Israel dismisses a UN-backed report stating that nearly half a million people in Gaza are experiencing catastrophic hunger.
The report from UN-backed IPC (Integrated Food Security Phase Classification) was published on Tuesday. It also warns that the situation in Rafah in southern Gaza may deteriorate.
David Mencer, spokesperson for the Israeli government, claims that the report is very misleading.
The war between Israel and terrorist-designated Hamas has been ongoing for over eight months after the attack on Israel on October 7. The warfare has led to severe humanitarian conditions in Gaza. There have been several warnings about famine and starvation.
Israel also rejected IPC's previous report on hunger in Gaza, which was released in March.
