Explosions, air raids, and gunfire are ongoing in northern Gaza on Saturday – a third day of an Israeli military operation that has led to tens of thousands of people needing to flee and worsened what the UN calls "unbearable" living conditions in the area.
The Israeli military reports that its military operation continues in the Shejaiya area near Gaza City, where battles "above and below ground" have led to the deaths of a "large number" of fighters from the terrorist-stamped Hamas.
The battles in the area have resumed several months after Israel declared that Hamas' command structure in northern Gaza had been "dismantled".
In Shejaiya, a resident testifies that dead bodies are lying visible on the streets.
Mohammed Harara, who lived in the area, says that he and his family were forced to flee their home and barely escaped Israeli bombers, tanks, and drones.
We didn't bring anything from the house. We left food, flour, canned goods, mattresses, and blankets, says Mohammed Harara.
Further south, around Rafah, several dead and wounded are reported since the Israeli military stepped up battles in the area again.
