Goal cameras and the possibility of video review are being introduced in the SDHL from the coming season, announces the Swedish Ice Hockey Association.
"The introduction of goal cameras will move the SDHL forward as a league, and I view the investment very positively. From a competitive perspective, sporting justice is a goal that should always be strived for, and goal cameras are an important instrument for achieving that", says Magnus Mårtensson, competition manager at the association, in a press release.
Cameras will be installed in all main arenas for the teams in the league, Sweden's highest on the women's side. They will be tested during the pre-season training matches and subsequently used from the start of the SDHL on 13 September, according to the association.
