Three minutes it took. Then Burnley's goalkeeper Martin Dubravka became the first to be penalized for the new rule that goalkeepers are only allowed to hold the ball for eight seconds.

Dubravka caught a cross in the beginning of the meeting away against Tottenham. Then he held the ball, and held, and held. After 14 seconds, referee Michael Oliver blew his whistle and ruled a corner for Tottenham.

The rule that the goalkeeper is only allowed to hold the ball for a maximum of eight seconds is new for the season.

Tottenham eventually won the match 3–0 after two goals by Richarlison and one by Brennan Johnson. Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall played 80 minutes for Spurs.
