It became dramatic in the rainy Swedish meeting between the star duo David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig and the countrymen Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson in the semifinal.
The slightly less merited duo Hölting Nilsson/Andersson won the first set 21–17, lost the second 18–21 but were strongest in the deciding set where they finally took home the match through 18–16.
After the match, it was a happy Elmer Andersson who could note that it was a tight match against the training companions:
Should we win, we needed to be at the top because they can punish you otherwise. It was tight all the way to the end, he says in SVT's broadcast.
For Hölting Nilsson and Andersson, the Norwegian dominants Anders Mol and Christian Sørum are now waiting in the final at 23 Swedish time.
We will do everything to win the final. They (the Norwegians) are maybe the best team ever, if it's not Åhman and Hellvig, says Hölting Nilsson in SVT's broadcast after the semifinal victory.
For Åhman and Hellvig, a match for third place is now waiting against the Czech pair Ondrej Perusic/David Schweiner at 21.
