It was in Tingsryd's overtime victory with 3–2 over Mora in Hockey Allsvenskan on Wednesday evening that things heated up.

Already during the warm-up.

According to the report, Mora's Gustav Salmi-Lilja skated along the middle line, but on his own half of the rink, and when he reached the midpoint, Vesterlund stuck out his stick and knocked the Mora player to the ice.

When the Mora player got up, Vesterlund grabbed Salmi-Lilja's jersey and hit him twice.

The incident was also caught on film.

Now, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's disciplinary committee is sentencing Vesterlund to a three-game suspension and a fine of 1,350 kronor.

"The film sequence supports the allegations in the report...Valdemar Vesterlund has, through his actions, instigated a fight before the match started and thereby made himself guilty of a punishable fighting offense that should lead to a suspension," the disciplinary committee writes in its decision.
