One of the women told about her experience during the ongoing trial, before the doctor took the witness stand. He then began by admitting to the rape and exploiting his position as a doctor, reports Trondheimstidningen Adresseavisen.
Here, I have obviously not understood or respected the signals she gave, he says.
The man, who was charged in September, is suspected of raping 88 women by exploiting his position as a chief physician in Frosta municipality. In total, he is suspected of assaulting 96 women.
The chief physician has been suspended from his work since 2022, after several women warned about him. An investigation was then initiated following a report from the National Health Authority.
The crimes the man is suspected of are believed to have taken place between 2004 and 2022. The police have seized over 6,000 hours of video recordings. Female patients are said to have been filmed while they were at the clinic for medical examinations, according to the investigation.
The women describe uncomfortable, boundary-crossing experiences. Among other things, the man is said to have given them "genital massages", writes Dagbladet.
The man himself has previously claimed to be innocent.
