A French business leader and his wife were traveling in first class with a Louis Vuitton bag containing jewelry and exclusive watches, placed under their seat. During the journey, the woman felt that the bag was moving under the seat, but did not think much about it, according to a police source who has spoken to the newspaper.

When the train stopped in Avignon, another passenger sounded the alarm and informed the couple that two people sitting behind them were exhibiting "suspicious behavior".

The couple then discovered that the bag had been emptied of its contents. When they tried to get hold of the perpetrators, it turned out that they had gotten off and the train had started moving again.

In a police report that the couple has filed at a police station in Lyon, it appears that the thieves managed to steal a Rolex watch, an emerald necklace, jewelry from Cartier and De Beers, as well as a wallet and a handbag from Hermès.

Besides the extremely large sum, my wife feels incredibly sad, says the robbed man to BFMTV.

It's a lifetime of jewelry and memories that she will never get back.
