Islamic Jihad Releases Video of Alleged Israeli Hostage in Gaza

The armed branch of the Palestinian extremist group Islamic Jihad has published a video of whom they claim is an Israeli hostage.

In the six-minute video, which has been published on social media, a Hebrew-speaking man is seen looking at news images from the hunger crisis in Gaza, according to AFP. The man identifies himself and appeals to the Israeli government to secure his release.

The man is said to have been kidnapped on October 7, 2023, from the music festival Supernova.

According to the Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post, the man's family has urged the terrorist-stamped group not to publish the video.

AFP has not been able to verify the authenticity of the video or at what time it was filmed.
