Among the dead are 58 people who were killed on Wednesday evening in a shooting against a crowd that had gathered around a humanitarian aid convoy near the Zikim border crossing in northern Gaza, according to Gaza's civil defense.
At least 800 people are reported to have been injured throughout Gaza.
As international pressure on Israel increases, the US envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff has arrived in Israel to discuss the crisis in Gaza with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Witkoff will, together with the US ambassador Mike Huckabee, also visit Gaza to inspect the heavily criticized Israeli-American organization Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which distributes food in Gaza. The visit will take place on Friday, according to the White House.
Germany's Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, who is visiting Israel, says after a meeting with high-ranking Israeli officials that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is "worse than can be imagined", and that Israel is "obliged to quickly and safely send sufficient humanitarian and medical aid to avoid mass death due to starvation".
