The attacks are reported to have been directed, among other things, against a Hizbollah-owned factory which, according to Israel, was used to "produce and store strategic weapons", as well as "infrastructure used to produce and store strategic weapons" in southern Lebanon and in the Bekaa Valley in the eastern parts of the country.

According to Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz, "Hizbollah's largest manufacturing facility for precision rockets" was attacked.

Israel has previously attacked the facilities several times, despite the ceasefire that came into force in November last year.

"The terrorist organization Hizbollah tried to rebuild the facilities and capacity, which is a breach of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon," writes Israel's military in a statement on Telegram.

Neither Hizbollah nor Lebanon has yet commented on the attack. It is unclear if anyone was injured or killed.

Hizbollah, which is closely allied with Iran, is heavily weakened after targeted Israeli attacks in September last year.

Corrected: In an earlier version of the text, there was an incorrect location indication of the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon.
