Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers on the West Bank last week, was buried in Turkey on Saturday.

The fatal shooting took place in connection with a protest against illegal settlements on the West Bank and the incident has led to harsh condemnations, not least from Turkey's side. Even the UN and the USA have demanded a full investigation of the circumstances and that those responsible are held accountable.

Israel has stated that it is highly likely that she was shot dead by mistake by its soldiers.

Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was born in Turkey but held both American and Turkish citizenship. She was buried in the Turkish city of Didim at the family's request.
