On a banner at Allianz Arena, it read "minister, club owner, TV rights holder, member of UEFA's executive committee and chairman of ECA – all in one?". On another, al-Khelaifi was urged to "go to hell", and on a third banner, there was a picture of the PSG chairman with a line drawn across his face.
"FC Bayern wants to apologize when opponents and their representatives feel personally attacked in this way and in this tone, and thus become offended", writes the German giant on its website.
Some home supporters also sang less flattering chants about the French club after the 1–0 win on Tuesday evening.
Nasser al-Khelaifi became chairman of PSG in 2011 after the club was bought by Qatar Sports Investments, where he himself is chairman and which is owned by the Qatari state.
The 51-year-old Qatari is both founder and chairman of state-owned Bein Media Group, which owns broadcasting rights to, for example, the French Ligue 1 and the German Bundesliga.
He has been chairman of the club organization European Club Association (ECA) since 2021 and has sat on ECA's mandate in UEFA's (European Football Association) highest governing body since 2019.
