Bø is ending his biathlon career this weekend and he didn't disappoint in Friday's sprint.
Despite being forced to miss last week's competitions in Pokljuka due to illness.
It's a good comeback. I didn't feel completely hundred, but it seems like it worked pretty well, says a smiling Bø to SVT.
The 31-year-old, who has won the overall World Championship five of the last six seasons, hit all ten shots and won 25.7 seconds ahead of Sturla Holm Lægreid. The victory means that Bø is closing in on Lægreid in the battle for the overall title this season.
Norwegian dominance
But with two competitions left – Saturday's pursuit and Sunday's mass start – Lægreid still has a firm grip on first place in the overall World Championship.
Johannes Dale Skjevdal finished third and it was ultimately five Norwegians at the top of the results list – an impressive display by the home nation's skiers.
The Swedish stars, on the other hand, shot themselves out of the competition. Sebastian Samuelsson (standing) and Martin Ponsilouma (prone) were simultaneously on the shooting range – and missed three shots each. With six blue-yellow misses in less than a minute, all chances of a top placement disappeared.
"Terribly disappointed"
Samuelsson came to the competitions in "Kollen" as fifth in the overall World Championship, with a chance to reach third place. Afterwards, he was "terribly disappointed" over the shooting performance.
I really wanted to do a good race today, it feels like I'm trying a bit too much. It gets a bit stiff all over, he says to SVT.
The best Swedish skier was instead Viktor Brandt, who finished in a shared 14th place.
I'm really happy with the race, says Brandt to SVT.
Jesper Nelin finished 19th, Ponsiluoma 24th, and Samuelsson 29th. They all get to participate in the pursuit, unlike Malte Stefansson who wasn't among the 60 best.
