A man has been injured in a shooting in Malmö.

According to the initial information, it appears that he is shot injured. He has been taken to hospital, the extent of his injuries is unclear, says police spokesperson Patric Fors to TT.

The police were alerted at 17.15 on Monday about several loud bangs in Västra Kattarp.

The injured man was found inside a restaurant.

Our working hypothesis is that the shooting took place outdoors and that the man then entered the restaurant, says Patric Fors.

A witness who was at the restaurant tells Sydsvenskan that a young man came in and cried for help.

I didn't understand at first what had happened, but when he fell to the floor, the staff opened his jacket and we saw that he was injured, the witness tells the newspaper.

The area has been cordoned off for a technical investigation. No suspect has been arrested.
