This year's license hunting allows a total of 465 bears in seven counties to be shot. At 5 pm on Thursday, 117 bears had been felled, according to the county administrative boards' compilations.

Most bears have been felled in Dalarna. There, 34 of the allocated 75 have been shot.

Both in Gävleborg and Jämtland counties, 30 bears were shot on the opening day. The counties are allocated 70 and 108 bears, respectively.

In Västerbotten county, 11 of the allocated 100 animals were felled. In both Norrbotten and Västernorrland, 5 animals were shot. The allocation was 24 and 85 bears, respectively.

The allocation in Värmland county was at most three animals, of which at most one female. The hunt was cancelled as early as Thursday when two bears were felled because one of them was a female.

The bear hunt can last until October 15 at the latest.
