The Neapolitan club Pomigliano's women's team played in the top league from 2021. The club was relegated in the spring after a very turbulent season with many coach changes and has now disbanded the women's team.
Now players are testifying about serious misconduct, which the international players' union Fifpro writes about:
+ Häcken player Aivi Luik was banned from doping for three months due to documentation deficiencies in a dispensation application.
+ The club threatened a player with legal action if she did not train and play despite a severe shoulder injury. Then they refused to pay for the operation and instead fired her. Another player was forced to play a match on the first day she was back after a serious injury. She naturally got injured again, and then the club refused to let her have an MRI examination.
+ Another player received unwanted invitations from a man connected to the club, who also had keys to her apartment.
"One day when I was cleaning, only dressed in a t-shirt and underwear, he suddenly stood there and stared at me", says the player, who then installed a camera that showed people had entered her bedroom when she was not at home.
+ Several players had their contracts falsified and altered.
+ Several players have not received their salaries, one has not received a salary for a whole year.
The Italian players' union is now helping the players to get their outstanding salaries and correct their falsified contracts.
