Ukraine has released 150 soldiers in a prisoner exchange with Russia, says President Volodymyr Zelensky. Russia confirms the agreement, and says that an equal number of Russians will stay in Belarus for care before they come home.
"Today is a good day for all of us. We are bringing home 150 of our defenders from Russian captivity", says the Ukrainian president according to media. "Some of them have been held captive for over two years".
He thanks the mediators, particularly the United Arab Emirates, for completing the agreement.
According to a statement from the Russian regime, Ukraine has released an equal number of Russian prisoners of war in exchange.
