The Championship is only a few weeks away for the Swedish para-sport star – if it happens at all for her and her competitors.
It's bad. I got some pictures from the back and it doesn't look good. I heard that they haven't had the facility in operation for several years. Then I thought "Okay, and that's where they put the para", says Ebba Årsjö.
On Monday, it's said that a decision will be made about whether the World Championship will take place as planned in Maribor starting on February 4 or if it will be moved – or completely cancelled.
It's very tight to get a decision so close to a World Championship, says Årsjö.
A possible reserve location is Kranjska Gora, also in Slovenia.
It could also happen that they move it a year, but then we have the Paralympics and it becomes too much.
The Swede dominates greatly on the slopes and recently won her 48th victory in the World Cup. The World Championship is the year's major sporting highlight for the 24-year-old. In Espot, Spain, two years ago, she was superior and took World Championship gold in four out of five events: in slalom, giant slalom, super-G, and in super combination.
It must be frustrating not to know if there will be a World Championship?
Championships are important for us, to get a bit more attention. It happens a bit more around the sport, says Ebba Årsjö.
One doesn't want them to just throw something together somewhere. We deserve a good World Championship.
