The individuals work to help criminal youths in Malmö within the municipality's crime prevention efforts. One of them, a manager, is alleged to have embezzled the municipality's funds, according to the municipality's own investigation.

The whole thing started with an anonymous complaint in September this year about "deficiencies and irregularities" related to how the accused manager performed their work.

During the municipality's investigation, it emerged that the manager has "grossly neglected their duties towards the employer and will therefore be dismissed from their employment through termination", writes Malmö City.

The manager is alleged to have, among other things, reported incorrect working hours, received a salary from Malmö City while also receiving a salary from another Scanian municipality, and employed a person with whom they have a personal relationship, despite the person not being qualified for the job.

The accused has made some admissions but denies most of the allegations.

Another person within the municipality's crime prevention efforts is being investigated in the scandal.
