A private individual found skeletal parts in a lake in Malå municipality. They were examined by the police but turned out to come from an animal.

The skeletal parts were found on Monday evening and the police started an investigation into murder, alternatively manslaughter, in order to examine the skeleton. The National Board of Forensic Medicine was contacted for a preliminary assessment and shortly thereafter established that it was not a matter of human remains.

"The National Board of Forensic Medicine has confirmed that the skeletal parts come from an animal and the investigation regarding murder has been closed", the police write on their website.
