In a post on Instagram on Wednesday morning, the Ica store writes: "We will keep the store closed today and take care of our colleagues after yesterday's tragic event. Thank you for your understanding".
The clock was 19.40 on Tuesday when the woman was attacked in the store by a 25-year-old man. She was seriously injured and taken to hospital where she later died.
The woman was employed at the store, confirms Ica Sweden's store security manager Anders Jonasson.
"Our thoughts are with the family and colleagues in this difficult time and our focus is now on giving employees all the support they need", he writes in a comment to TT.
No Connection
There is currently no known connection between the suspect and the victim, says prosecutor Angelica Runesson.
There is nothing indicating that there are more people involved at present, according to Runesson. She does not want to comment on motives or similar.
I cannot comment on anything related to the investigation.
The perpetrator was apprehended by a security guard in the store.
It is unclear whether he gave up and surrendered or was overpowered when he tried to flee, says Niklas Berglund, duty officer at the Stockholm police.
Knife Seized
The police have seized a knife that the perpetrator is suspected of having used and are working to try to map out the sequence of events.
We do not yet know if the knife he used came from the store or was brought with him, says Berglund.
Several people were in the store when the attack occurred, but it is unclear if there are witnesses to the actual event.
This is something we are trying to map out now, together with the motive for the act, and hopefully we will know soon.
