For several years, it has been clear that Baggböle shooting range's club house will need to be moved to make way for a growing industrial area. In April 2024, the building was moved to its new location, after the land and development unit (Mex) at the municipality received a demolition permit.
But a demolition permit is not a building permit, which was granted for the first time in June 2024. Moreover, it was not until March 2025 that the actual approval, the so-called start notice, was given.
By then, the building had stood on the new site for eleven months.
The result is that Mex is forced to pay a construction penalty fee of 330,000 kronor to a sister unit within the municipality, the building committee.
When you are going to move a house, it applies to the municipality, just like everyone else, to do it in the right order after you have received permission and a start notice, says Mikael Berglund, (S), chairman of the building committee, to VK.
