The Ukrainian flag is raised on Sunday outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Stockholm to mark Ukraine's Independence Day.
"Today, on Ukraine's Independence Day, as on all other days, Sweden stands firmly by Ukraine's side. Our military, political and civil support to Ukraine is unwavering", says Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (The Moderate Party) in a press release.
Ukraine declared itself independent from the Soviet Union on August 24, 1991.
