A woman has been run over by a so-called "amphibious bus" on Östermalm in Stockholm and is seriously injured, according to the police.
The accident occurred during Thursday afternoon and an investigation into reckless driving and bodily harm has been initiated.
The exact sequence of events is a bit too early to comment on, but the bus has been seized so that we can investigate what happened, says Carina Skagerlind, press spokesperson for the Stockholm police.
The woman has been taken to hospital by ambulance. Earlier, the accident site on Karlavägen was cordoned off, but traffic is now flowing again. The bus is of a type that can be driven both on water and on land under the brand name Ocean Bus.
Aftonbladet has been in contact with the bus company, which has paused all operations after the accident.
We naturally hope that everything goes well with the woman who was run over. That's basically all I can say right now, says the owner to the newspaper.
