On Wednesday, new inflation figures were presented in the USA, which at 2.9 percent were slightly lower than analysts had expected, according to Bloomberg. The Stockholm stock exchange had a volatile last hour of trading, but otherwise reacted moderately to the figures from North America.

In the morning, new inflation figures from SCB were also released, showing that Swedish inflation is clearly below the Swedish Central Bank's target.

Almost all – 27 out of 30 – stocks on the OMXS30 index rose during the day, and the index as a whole ended up 0.9 percent.

One of the day's winners was the white goods conglomerate Electrolux, which rose by 3.5 percent. The company announced earlier in the day that Frenchman Yannick Fierling will become the new CEO.

Defense conglomerate Saab also did well, up 3.3 percent.

At the other end of the OMXS30 list was pharmaceutical giant Astra Zeneca, which fell by 0.7 percent.

The leading European stock exchanges climbed slightly during the day.
