Ukraine's military believes that North Korean soldiers fighting for Russia in the Kursk region have retreated from the battlefield.
Over the past three weeks, we have not seen any activity or fighting against North Koreans, says one of the Ukrainian military's spokespersons, Oleksandr Kindratenko.
Ukraine's military thinks that heavy losses and many fallen North Korean soldiers may be a reason for the retreat.
Intelligence services in Ukraine, the USA, and South Korea have previously stated that they have evidence that more than 10,000 soldiers from North Korea have fought on Russia's behalf in the western part of the country. Ukraine launched an offensive against Russian Kursk in August.
Neither Moscow nor Pyongyang has confirmed the North Korean presence in Russia.
