The French group Gojira will perform at Friday's opening ceremony for the OS in Paris – and will thus make history. It will be the first time a metal band plays at an opening ceremony in the OS, writes Forbes.
Gojira will, according to Le Parisien, perform with opera singer Marina Viotti. It has already been clear that artists such as Lady Gaga, Aya Nakamura, and Celine Dion will also perform.
Over 300,000 people are expected to attend the opening ceremony. In addition, around one billion TV viewers are expected to follow the event live on Friday evening, according to NBC News.
